Dr. Hugh Whitfield

MINISTRY EXPERIENCE: Pastor Hugh came to Pearl in November 2017 and previously served for 10 years as Associate Pastor at Tri-City Baptist, Conover, NC, as well as Pastor of three other churches in North Carolina and Virginia.

Pastor Hugh received his Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University (1990), M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1993), Wake Forest, NC, and D.Min. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (2005), Deerfield, IL.

FAMILY: Pastor Hugh met his loving wife, Carol, in Boone, NC, in 1988, which led to a fun-filled friendship and blossomed into a joy-filled marriage at Mt. Vernon Baptist on September 30, 1989. Carol is a graduate of ASU.

God has blessed Hugh and Carol with two daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandsons.
